Meet the Doctors


Dr. Marshall Kaplan was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1941 and received his undergraduate training from the University of Illinois and his M.D. degree from Stritch Medical School of Loyola University in 1967. He completed his internship and a year of surgical residency at the San Francisco General Hospital, University of California, from 1967 to 1969. Dr. Kaplan then served two years in the United States Air Force doing general practice and surgery. He completed his residency in urology at the Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Medical Center in 1974 and has been practicing urology in West Broward since 1974 and in 2006 opened a second office in South Palm Beach. In addition to board certification by the American Board of Urology and election to Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons, (F.A.C.S.), and Dr. Kaplan is a member of the American Urological Association, the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association and the Broward County Medical Association. Dr. Kaplan has held the positions of Chief of Surgery at Westside Regional Medical Center and Vice-Chief of Surgery at Florida Medical Center. He is a clinical instructor in urology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Medical Center. He is Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at Nova Southeastern University. In "Miami Metro Magazine", he received honors as one of the Top Urologists. Dr. Kaplan has had many publications and is and has been a principle investigator in many clinical research projects in the following areas: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, Overactive Bladder, Frequency and Urinary Incontinence, Premature Ejaculation, Chronic Non-Bacterial Prostatitis, Chronic Urinary Tract Infections and Advanced Prostate Cancer. He is married and has four daughters, two son-in-laws and four grandchildren.
